The standouts: While at the first look, this 7-inch capacitive touch screen tablet has a familiar design, I love the circular button in the centre made from steel which renders the Auxus 02 a distinct, classier look over its counterparts. Its screen is responsive and the keyboard is easy to type on- making this tablet a lot more user friendly than other tablets in this price range. The Auxus AX02 is even equipped with a 2MP camera in the rear using which you can click crisp images, while a 0.3MP front camera lets you make video calls to your friends and family. The 1GB RAM on board allows you to browse the web, watch videos, or play games without putting too much strain on the 1GHz CPU of the tablet. Speaking of videos, the Auxus 02 can play MP4 format files, so you can play HD videos easily on the Auxus AX02. The pre-installed file manager app lets you transfer data from the PC onto the tablet conveniently and lets you manage various file types with considerable ease. The so-so’s: Standard features like a mini USB port – along with a mini USB to a full USB adaptor in the package lets you connect to the internet using a 3G dongle, if you have no WiFi access. In addition, there’s a HDMI port so you can connect your tablet to a HD TV conveniently, and even a microSD card slot in case you wish to expand storage from the on-board 8GB memory. A Li-Po 4000 mAh battery assures you continuous usage of up to 5 hours and 40 minutes, which is just about average in terms of battery life. Although with limited usage of apps, you could stretch the tablet to last you a day without the need to charge the battery. The not so good: While we think this is a good contender in the sub-10k category of Android 4.0 tablets, we are bit unsatisfied about the absence of Bluetooth as we cannot connect the tablet to other devices for transferring data. Though in terms of screen quality, although the touchscreen of the Auxus AX02 is very responsive, we wish the screen was brighter and could reproduce images with better quality. It’s a pity that such an efficient touch screen capability has gone to waste on a screen that is unable to depict colors properly. Another slightly irritating feature of the Auxus AX02 is the way the apps downloaded from the Google Play store directly, show up on the home screen. If you happen to have arranged your home screen perfectly to suit your requirements, this becomes quite a bother with unwanted apps turning up and taking up space on the screen too.
